Environmental Policy
Protecting Future Generations
Titanium Contracting Inc. (“TCI”) acknowledges that its activities can have a significant influence on the environment. Therefore we are committed to minimizing the impact of our activities on human health and the natural environment, to comply with environmental regulations and procedures, and to maintain project sites in environmentally sound conditions. TCI’s Environmental Policy (“EP”) is meant to address various sustainability issues and is reviewed annually.
In order to meet our commitments, TCI shall:
- Actively promote our EP throughout the company, and ensure all employees receive environmental training appropriate to their role and responsibilities;
- Work with clients and consultants to improve the environmental impacts of all matters within a given project through enhancement of specifications and design.
- Assess the potential effects of its projects and integrate protective measures into the planning process to prevent or reduce impacts on the environment and on public health;
- Assess on an on-going basis the environmental impact of all operations on a given project;
- Use alternative materials, products and services with reduced environmental and/or social impacts whenever these can be commercially justified. The policy for responsible purchasing applies to office staff as well as those on site;
- In the absence of legislation, apply technically proven and practical environmental protection measures;
- Segregate waste for recycling or reuse whenever conditions permit, or use waste handlers that sort and recycle waste, reducing the quantity of waste sent for landfill or incineration. Our company minimizes waste and makes efficient use of energy and materials on site and in the offices;
- In conjunction with appropriate authorities, establish an emergency response procedure to deal with any unforeseen environmental threats (i.e. oil spill); and
- Restore drill sites and camp locations to acceptable environmental conditions at the termination of projects.
TCI recognizes the impact on communities in the areas in which we work and aim to manage activities to minimize the effects on the community with regard to noise, odours, air, dust, litter, transportation and parking. We believe that all individuals in the workplace, at all levels and functions, must accept their responsibility in achieving the objectives of this EP. A sound and healthy environmental attitude and performance is vital to us all, and to future generations.
